Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Starr County Criminal History. Viewing content, using a search feature, or otherwise continuing on the website means that the visitor accepts them. Anyone who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no affiliation with Starr County, the State of Texas, or any government body. Neither this resource nor its advertising partners provides a service for any decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance. The website identifies public-record routes in Starr County, Texas. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not hold official criminal records, retrieve them, perform official background checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its purpose is to identify the Starr County sheriff and clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and other official sources. Some pages also connect to outside tools that may assist independent research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every user agrees not to:

  • Use automated bots or scrapers against the pages
  • Interfere with site speed, access, or another visitor's use
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or data
  • Use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten another person
  • Use content for a credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decision
  • Violate federal, Texas, or local law through use of the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use material from this website or a linked tool to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 62.005 restricts misuse of information released through the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Using registry data to injure, harass, or commit a crime against a listed person or family member can produce criminal consequences. The registry supports public safety awareness, not vigilantism.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a consumer report, credit report, or official background check. The same is true of the website features presented here. A user must not rely on this site or a linked tool to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a tenant or housing applicant
  • Set credit or insurance eligibility or terms
  • Decide access to a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful, regulated purpose requires the appropriate official or FCRA-compliant channel, not this website.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General information about Starr County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, nondisclosure, or expunction rule applies to one person. Consult a licensed Texas attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All material is offered "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner's result is complete or accurate
  • The pages contain no mistake, bug, or security weakness
  • The website will remain available without interruption
  • Any information is complete, accurate, or current at a given time

Criminal records change as charges, dispositions, expunction orders, and nondisclosure orders are entered. Gaps and delays can occur. No content here is an official statement from the Starr County sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to official government pages, court portals, legal resources, and outside services. A destination controls its own availability, content, data practices, and charges. We are not responsible for those matters. Review the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Starr County Criminal History or the relevant content partner. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material, except where law provides otherwise.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for harm arising from use of the website, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or actions caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal costs where allowed.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Texas. Public-record access under the Texas Public Information Act and criminal-history dissemination under Government Code Chapter 411 remain governed by their own laws.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated version is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected term will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
